Question on compensation for a small co with a huge independent contractor workforce that is looking at big expansion into Europe. Reports to the general counsel. 1 other lawyer. Bonus 10-18%. Last year was 15%. No 401k for highly comped employees. I asked if they would be open to having me set up a safe harbor 401 k and they said yes in the future but it won’t be part of this offer. 16 pto days. They moved from 205 to 210 but that 230 is not possible even tho posted salary range was up to 233k

Qualified Dividends: I’m expecting $650-$750 qualified dividend in 2021. Salary and base about $250 total. Questions: what tax rate will the qualified dividend be taxed at? The 15% or 20%? I got an offer for $140k base salary, plus annual 15% bonus, and I think like 500 shares equity, for an in-house commercial contracts attorney position. I have 10 years experience. I think I should go back with at least $150k, but do you think I should go higher? I was told there “isn’t much wiggle room” but we all know that’s usually bs.
