IQ test?!
Agree with AP11, i will add our model is fundamentally different from MBB. We have senior people who bill 100% of the time. MBB have lots of expensive experts who bill very little and crazy expenses on training, marketing and office rent.

SA - my interview process started on a Memorial Day and finished just after that same halloween and then I was told the same thing.
I continued to reach out to my HR contact every 3-4 weeks. Around the following February I got a call out of the blue with an offer

8 interviews and they didn’t give you a job. Girl BYE
Definitely keep in touch. Most of the company is pivoting toward turnaround and bankruptcy cases due to Covid. Once things start going back to normal Digital will be booming and you can join.

Lol - are you even staffing if everyone is 100% utilized
Mine took 6 months start to finish. It’s not a great process but we’re actively working on improving it.
It is a very heavy due diligence process though - keep in mind we don’t have up or out. Once you’re here, we’re more inclined to invest in your development than let you go, so it is important we hire the right people for our culture. Low attrition rate, plus being a small firm means that every hire we make has a larger influence on the overall culture and success of the company.
I’m in a role that partners very closely with the recruiting team and can tell you that process has improved significantly in speed and quality.
What OP has most likely experienced is a combination of the process being very thorough (with intent), unfortunate timing, and the firm being thoughtful to employee experience as we don’t want people coming in and sitting on the beach.
AP2, sounds like you have a lot of feedback, feel free to DM if you’d like to chat.
OP, I realize this can be frustrating but we would tell you if it was a true ‘no’.
Sorry about your experience, OP. The timing is not ideal and on top of that I do agree we have a bloated & overly complicated process.
I trust things will work out for you and best of luck!
Thanks for all the great insight everyone ! Key question I have for people who have gone through this process is, should I still consider myself to be in the race ?
I echo the same sentiment. You are still being considered. It’s just that a lot of our work very quickly shifted into Turnaround/Restructuring very quickly.
Things look slightly better for late 3Q.

IQ tests—aren't those illegal in hiring?
Cognitive tests are not illegal to use for hiring and are one of the best, most validated, predictors of job performance across all jobs
Dang. That’s nuts. How’s your personal pipeline? Can you afford to wait it out?
IQ Test? Do they want me to strip for them to?
Well they added over $100k comp on my previous firm (tier 2) so a 10 minute assessment that NFL players can pass was the least of my concerns
My hiring process with AP took exactly 2 weeks - from handing in my CV until receiving a signed contract. I had several offers already, asked the recruiting team to speed up and they did.
AP12 when did you interview ?
What practice ?
OP - Any updates can you share?
