Before moving to London I’d never seen a job advertised like this: “12 month FTC Maternity Leave”. I see this all the time in the UK. Why would any potential candidate want to do this? It seems like it’s a FT role only for a year so none of the salary or freedom of freelance and none of the benefits or security of a full time job. Can anyone explain?

AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth.
