Heya! I’m an international student trying to find a job in business strategy or advertising. Yet, many companies do not want to hire me because of the OPT. I double major in Brand Management and Psychology. Any advice or direction on how to get my step through the door as a foreigner in this competitive industry?

I’d look into US-based employers who have offices in your home country! Most HB1 visas are primarily for tech focused roles, so it’ll be really tough to find a entry-level sponsored role.

Something you might consider is finding a US-based company that have offices in your home country and have internships available. For example, my company sponsors transfers people abroad but the unofficial rule is 2 years in your home office before a 2 year commitment to whatever office you transfer to.

I'm entering my final year of law school but am going part time since I work full time as a paralegal. I have been a paralegal for more 10+ years and I want to open my own firm after I pass the bar.

I've worked at a lot of different size firms including a startup with a few attorneys and I was able to help with a lot of the ground work with getting the practice management system in place and still do some of that now at my current firm. Has anyone done this right out of law school? Any advice?

Jr. Associate at an AmLaw 100 firm in Central Florida. Good credentials; top 10% at T14, law review. Sick of private practice bc of hours and pressure. Also, not enjoying the work that Central Florida offers, but want to live here.

I want to one day have my own firm. Trying to think outside the box on how to get the experience w/o being in big law for ten years.

Thinking of applying to be an ASA and to the FL AGO. Would like trial experience or civil rights/con law work.

Thoughts appreciated!

I wanted to share that I am in my first job as ui/ux expert and I am the only ux/ui person in the team. I am expected to take care of entire research and design of the product. It becomes very overwhelming as the product that I am working on is in a early phase and I am expected to think about ui as well as ux and also design entire app on my own. There is no user interview or user testing happening as my project manager thinks it can be done after product is launched. I am also looking for a referral in Deloitte +kpmg for a systems/bi analyst role, will be super grateful for some help there too.
