I interview as often as possible and then ghost them when they extend an offer. Just doing my part to balance the scales a little bit.
😭
had this happen after seven rounds once, still mad about it
pretty indefensible, yeah. still probably going to apply to them again in the future 😎
I'm sorry. It happened to me recently by a big tech company, where I did 4 rounds and that was my dream job too. Gutted me and still sad about it.
This was 3 rounds and I'm still extremely disappointed. It's not like a lot of my time went into this, but I didnt think I'd just never hear anything again :(
I was ghosted once to later find out the role went on hold. Luckily I was called & hired for the next one. Lots of things sometimes are happening behind the scenes. Unfortunately you won’t hear back until it’s time or next steps. Remain professional. So sorry!
Sorry about this happening to you. Easier said than done, but think about how the turn of events happened for a reason and that the door is open for other (better) opportunities. This has happened to me and I would fantasized and created my own reality of how good the opportunity was and got anxious about why it didn’t lead to my “imaginary new near perfect” role. Try to distance yourself, understand it is not you- it’s them- and stay hopeful that something better is getting aligned for you.
Especially when they make you do a case study/ assignment for free….
well i mean, that’s on you for accepting an unpaid exercise.
It’s shocking that it’s actually the norm now? Genuinely don’t see the point of HR if their job is just to farm data and resumes without ever following up lol
Sorry I think I worded this awkwardly, I meant in more than one instance I have interviewed (sometimes several rounds) and have been ghosted so it feels like they were just farming my resume and that’s all. Sometimes it is the recruiter reaching out so it’s not even prompted by me!
I know it’s harsh to blame an entire category but it feels like being unprofessional is less of an exception now and it’s extremely annoying, I can’t believe I miss a rejection email!
What kind of role was this for?
