I am on notice period with Tata Consultancy with 2 months remaining with an offer in hand where the joining date is just after notice period ends. Now, I got early release from current company and thus, I saved 2 months. But I want to use these 2 months for travelling, upskilling and looking for better offers instead of contacting the new company for early joining. So, if I join the new company after 2 months will this be considered as a 'gap' in my profile in the future and will it be harmful?

Enjoy your time in San Diego OP. Moved here 2 months ago from DC and it's like living in Paradise
1 rental car day is probably cheapest.. like $35 after taxes? Depending on time if day it's from 2-4 hour drive
Amtrak
SC1 have you tried tesloop? Is it good? Was thinking about it for Vegas
I haven't yet, because LA is awful, but a friend said she loves the service
Amtrak is probably most scenic for the ride right along the beach as you get further south but not very convenient from LAX. Why not fly into SAN if that’s where you want to go rather than LAX though? The airport is nice and convenient to downtown, and LAX is not nice and surrounded by some of the most congested highways in the country - and the route to San Diego (the 405) is one of them.
Uber is probably cheaper than flight. If you have all the time you have, try Amtrak
Nothing super convenient. I suppose you could take the the flyaway (bus) to union station and then take the Amtrak. A bit inconvenient but maybe better than driving.
Train man. Amtrek
Flights are quick
Tesloop is AWESOME. 100% recommend!!
Update - 1) I flew into LAX because fare difference was >$200 and 2) I actually have to go to north SD
From your inputs here’s a comparison-
1. Flights are $100-150 ish at least with AA and makes sense if you are in a rush and want to go to downtown SD
2. Amtrak is convenient and pretty views @ $30-40 for coach and $50-55 for business class. Painful getting to union station though
3. Greyhound is on dynamic pricing and can range from $1-$60 depending on date and how advanced you book but again you’ll have to get to downtown
4. Tesloop ranges from $39-$60 straight from LAX with select drop off points (all around downtown SD).. they get sold out soon tho so book in advance
5. I took a car today as I had luggage and didn’t want to get hassled around. One way with hertz is about $70-$100. Would be cheaper if your above 25 yrs of age.
