No personal experience, but I know experienced cruisers that recently went on a voyage. They noted the Virgin experience is aimed towards young ppl 21-35 and has a far more modern feel than any other boat. I’d recommend watching a few YouTube videos and deciding if the trip is right for you.
The problem with Virgin Cruises is they don't go all the way......ta da!!!!.....thank you, thank you....yup, I'll see myself out...
I went a few months ago and it was so much fun! It was our first cruise ever as well (me+husband) and we left from Miami. If you like having a good time, amazing food, drinking, music, pool time, it’s great. No kids is key. Most people were ‘cruisers’ and commented on how much better it was without the splashing and tantrums.
There were people of all ages 18-80, (we are 33 and 35) - of course, many on the younger side but honestly the average was probably 35/40ish? Many 50s etc. We met so many people, some we are still friends with and have traveled with again! If you sit in the pool, or really anywhere, you will meet and talk to people. I would say one downside for me is there are times I just wanted to relax, but everyone was friendly so you end up chatting. My husband can talk like 24 hours a day, so that didn’t help either. He might have met everyone on the boat… 😅
There are shows and all that (not really our thing), casino, night club. The boat is new and pretty, and it was probably 50% full, the staff went above and beyond. The food was amazing! We went to every restaurant. We spent around 1100$ on drinks. We drink quite a bit and it’s also like, all day and night lol. They don’t have a drink package, but get the $300 and they give you $50 deal.
It is a great option for couples or even a single person/alone trip. You will meet and talk to people no matter what - there are even social events like trivia and a bar crawl.
Thanks for sharing! Sounds like a great time. Will definitely be checking them out for a trip soon!
