With your partner's help, he or she may be able to help you find the right people. Even if your partner has experience, he can serve as your first mentor.
Approach who motivates you to be a better police officer, in our direction we are always open to helping other police officers to be better.
It feels very bad for us newcomers that someone rejects us, when I was starting at the police station someone treated me badly, but later I understood that I was starting first I had to learn the minimum and then ask someone to help me.
The development of police skills is teamwork like all police work, to find a good guide it is good that you base yourself on older people with more experience.
It is essential to get the right guide, before launching yourself into any one, look carefully at what type of police officer you want to be and identify which police officer best suits your tastes and then go ahead and talk to him, buy him a coffee or a beer, break the ice, all the Police are open to helping others.
It can be difficult to find a mentor when you're new to the law enforcement field. However, the best way to meet fellow officers is to attend training events and conferences. You can also join online forums or groups that are specific to law enforcement. By networking with other officers, you'll be able to build relationships and learn from their experiences.
Your local police guild should be able to get you connected with someone. There are a lot of seasoned cops who have considerable knowledge they are eager to share with someone who is following in the same profession. They will be just as happy as you are about mentorship.
Your best bet will be someone local, so it matters which precinct you're working out of. I'm not in Cali, unfortunately, or I'd take you on in a heartbeat! The world needs more go-getters.
Your Chief probably has a list, I would talk with them about the possibility. They are more likely to be able to provide a personal recommendation of someone that will match your temperament, otherwise the mentorship will be... not good.
