Best website/portfolio options?

I'm looking for suggestions on website building tools and portfolio options and inspiration on who is using what in creative ways.

My current website is incredibly out of date, and I don't feel like recoding it from scratch. At the same time, I don't want an obvious template cookie-cutter site. I'm looking for something that I can customize but essentially set and forget.

Also wondering what portfolio options are best these days?

Random question, but does anyone know why all closed captions say "captioning made possible by (some company or group)"? Now that I think about it - it feels like a weirdly phrased statement. Are captions provided by donation or something for broadcast television?

I’ve worked for many companies involving creative traditional/digital artwork, but my last job threw my health under the bus, so now my current has very little creative work and work with databases..

My question is: what was the thing that helped you get back into a creative job?

Revamping your resume? Personal projects? Starting your own company?

I feel like there are so many doors that are open I just lose steam haha.

A year ago, I got promoted to Art Director, and since our team is pretty small, I’m still very hands-on in terms of designing. I’m currently responsible for creating online advertising, branding and everything that goes into our social media channels (design, not content). I want to ask others Art Directors here, what responsibilities you have. What your day-to-day looks like? I’m still doing everything that I used to do when I was a Lead Designer. Am I missing something?
