Esperanza Rising, Tuck Everlasting, The Giver, Holes And, allow them to enjoy the story without pulling assignments out of every chapter! Most kids don’t enjoy reading because we make it too academic. I teach 7th grade with 1/3 of my students being on an IEP. I use audio books for whole class reads.

The Miss Peregrine series is awesome. Kind of creepy but really well written and enjoyable.

The Giver! Always a favorite amongst my students. Such a great book.

I’m teaching Persepolis, Fahrenheit 451, Othello and Things Fall Apart to 7th this year.
