Any opportunities for those without a clearance but eligible? I only have public trust

likehelpful

I talked to someone about this yesterday. Most of these roles need staff with active clearances - there’s such a backlog in the processing that it could take 6 months to a year to get someone up cleared, especially starting from zero (public trust isn’t actually a clearance).

like

I only have a TS. Can i still be considered?

like

Yeah our recent hiring demands are limited to SCI only people. If you can DM me positions you are looking at and your resume, I can send it to the non SCI recruiting team!

Understandable why people need / want people with active clearances, but it is so tough out there for people like me with just a public trust. No one is willing to sponsor a clearance these days it feels like, which makes new roles very very limiting

like

Talk to your security team. Try and network with a team that does that work. If you currently have a job and tasking for 6 months - 1 year, the team might have more leeway to start the process for you for future roles.

When you apply to jobs needing it, it means they need butts in seats today. They can’t wait for a year for processing.

like

Are these hire to the bench or to projects?

We do!

Where can I send the message to?

I have to ask is this a DOGE project?

What happens if my TS investigation was completed about 6 month ago and I was deemed “eligible” for a clearance but I declined the job offer?

Our school uses Foss Kits for Science and I was told when students return, we will need to sanitize all items before and after each use. This doesn’t seem possible in a middle school setting where each period has a 4 minute break and 25 students in each period. What do you do in your classroom to minimize the amount of work needed to clean and sanitize items. I don’t want to short change the students’ hands-on experiences.

I love what I do and I have an offer to stay in International Development and be a manager with 86k, focusing on my technical area + lots of travel. But I also have offers from Deloitte and EY to be a GPS consultant at ~100k. Is it worth it to move to D or EY? Have personal financial goals that i need to reach for my family and thats why i started considering EY and D.
