I’d think about model year. I’d rather have a 2019 with 20k mikes than a 2020 with 20k mikes. They’ve had different hardness /intensity of driving and would’ve had different maintenance needs.

Yup, similar wear and tear and lower purchase price
That depends on the previous owner and the location it is in. I’d avoid cars from humid and icy places.
Bought a Mercedes glc 300 with 11,500 mi and it was basically brand new. I’d stick with less than 15k mi personally.

Thanks A1, what year and how much?

All depends on condition and what your long term plans are.
A higher mileage car might make sense if you don’t drive much and are going to keep for a while.
Could also make sense if you drive a lot as you start with more depreciation.
In general car values drop a lot after 100k so I’d plan with that milestone in mind
Anything in that mileage range would be fine. Even if they never changed the oil it would be fine. Even if they drove on salted roads in the NE and didn’t treat or clean undercarriage it would be fine.
If you’re buying from a dealer they usually come with a warranty, so you should hopefully be protected from fixing anything that was excessively negligent.
I’ve also bought cars of Craigslist and negotiated tune-up cost off the sell price and even once borrowed a truck for a week to make sure it was okay before buying.

True, but I’d be cautious about what consumables like tires, brakes, and catching up maintenance will cost.
Both can be significant with a luxury car.
For example not uncommon to replace brakes within 20k miles on a heavy SUV

I have bought several CPOs w good results. Typically they would come off of 2-3 year leases so I like to use 30k miles as the top end limit. What brands are you interested in?
There’s really no difference between 15 and 20, though after 20 you’re pushing near the end of factory warranty and which point repairs can get pricey

I try to get <20k mi. & 2-3 yrs old. The older the fewer miles I want to see.
