It's for blue collar workers, people in the service industry and such mostly. The cap is at $75k. They need it more than us.
100% agreed. This question as mostly for everyone who is a non citizen like us, and millions of others like the undocumented immigrants. I know there are talks about getting them some money but not sure how that would even work. They need it the most since they can’t claim unemployment or any other benefits the actual citizens can.
At least be respectful of those who really need this money. Don't be selfish in the time of crisis for God's sake.
Thanks A1 for looking at sense.
You guys are so judgy. I was just asking - can we no longer ask any question? FWIW, I make $60k. I don’t need this money since I’m not laid off (yet) and have a paycheck coming in. I was asking a honest question to this community who sometimes answers questions without being absolute a*holes about it.
I agree . Half of time people are busy pulling others leg without any reason. And the other half mostly about compensation and visa. We need to think over and above this.

Yes, that’s how taxation and citizenship work. And, stop being greedy about this. Pretty sure all of us on this bowl do well enough to not need this money.
Agree to first and last line. Didn’t mention anything about wanting this money.
Usually it is for all tax payers irrespective of citizenship
Damn! I was under 75k a few months ago!
They might use last years pay roll, w2 for tax info to make this determination on the $75k threshold.
Anyone who paid taxes in 2018 would qualify. If you’ve already paid 2019 taxes, you qualify based on 2019 numbers.
So far this is irrespective of your legal status. I read somewhere that people with ITIN would also qualify. The bill has not yet passed so we don’t know the details yet!
They may classify it as a Public Charge to deny GC (if at all the priority date moves).
M1 is right. Public Charge affects you when you apply for Food Stamp, Medicaid, unemployment insurance etc. It doesn't affect you if the government itself decides to send you money without you filling out a form and asking for it. There is a huge difference.
