Came across a dated post on McKinsey Engagement Manager EM pay increases from associate. Keen on hearing from EMs working there. Is this post accurate in that if you were to accelerate within one year your pay is still basically associate level or does your pay actually change with position. Similarly how does bonus change?

Even irrespective of promotions does salary materially change for say an A2 vs. A1?

Specialist roles aside, such as digital, when you see someone describing themselves as a “generalist marketer” is this a resume you’d pass on? I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got a much higher offer for SC.
