Hi Fishes, I have an interview with PwC AC in the coming week. My tech stack is Power BI, SQL, SSRS,SSIS and Tableau. YEO -4 Current CTC is 9 LPA. During the initial call with the recruiter he asked for ny expected CTC and I asked for 17 LPA. Can anyone from PwC comment on this? Is this too much to ask or is this what someone at my current level would get paid at PwC. Please let me know!!!! PwC PwC India Pwc AC Deloitte Deloitte USI
Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? Officially block? No. But they can make it difficult when the hiring manager reaches out for feedback about you and your performance.
That’s for sure! My manager will not let me go.
They usually can’t stop you from applying but some people absolutely get kept in their current jobs for various reasons behind the scenes. Especially if you’re in a specialty role that’s hard to train for.
They cannot stop you from applying. They can stop the transfer to another department. Some companies are up front about this and why they need you not to leave. Other companies do it behind your back and you never know they stopped it. If it's a good company, they will talk to you about it and try to help you.
Happens all of the time, but they will never admit it.
Short answer. Yes. When they do that make plans to start moving on with another company.
No.. not from what I’ve seen.. we work at the same place and I apply all the time. I have an interview Friday, worked there for 2.5 years.
Sure they can just like they can lay you off if they don't want you to work there anymore and you can quite. Is it smart for them, if you could do this new job, no probably not. If they are only thinking about themselves and not you it's time to move anyways.
One of the reasons I left Allstate was they posted a manager job in my department and didn't tell anyone because they already knew who they were going to hire. I was "interviewed" by HR and told I would be interviewed by the manager. The next week, I got a survey asking if I was satisfied with the reason I wasn't given the job. Allstate doesn't do a very good job with internal candidate interviews. This was 3 years ago. I told my manager on the exit interview and she agreed they didn't have a good process.
