Can anyone recommend some books or resources they found helpful to improve their ability to improve their skills. Looking for resources for the plaintiffs perspective.

For background, I’m a 2nd year Plaintiffs PI attorney in NJ/NY already have running with the bulls and Robert Ball on damages on the list, looking for others

Thanks in advance for any insight !

Not a book but trial lawyer nation podcast is amazing and exclusively from plaintiffs’ POV. They recommend books all the time.

I haven’t read it but hear Don’t Eat the Bruises is good.

I also highly recommend Don't Eat the Bruises.

I cannot recommend "Running With The Bulls" enough. Nick Rowley is a killer.

Winning personal injury cases. I forget the author but he's a PI lawyer in PA who only takes eye injury cases. Excellent advice

I’m relocating to London and would love to hear recommendations on neighborhoods. I am looking for an “urban village” feel (small coffee shops, not very touristy, can walk a dog and stroller) with a budget of 3K for a 1-2 bdr. My commute would be into Soho. I am currently looking at Notting Hill, Chelsea, and St John Woods, but I won’t be able to visit before my move. Any neighborhood recs?

I have family members who are inside claims reps for a large company. The company sends out emails 4 times/day showing who is currently not available for calls. Sounds at least toxic.

Hello all, I'm a very green attorney, never tried a single case or even was second or third chair, but managed to land a litigation associate position at a Plaintiff's firm. Does anyone remember their first trial? How did you feel and how did it turn out by comparison? Anything you wish you did differently?
I know in THEORY what the process of trials are but thanks to COVID I haven't been able to observe them in real life so I'm very nervous for the day I finally enter a courtroom.

Hello All,
I am finishing up my second year of practice as a lawyer. I transitioned to plaintiffs pi work from a boutique commercial litigation firm. I like the work and not having to bill. The issue I am having is managing volume. I have about 150 active files some pre-lit and the rest are in litigation. Cases range in value from very small to low six figures. I also take the driver seat for the grunt work on the firms bigger cases which are at or near 7 figure value. I constantly feel (cont.)

I'm a 6th year attorney in NYC. Strictly defense work; started out with the City Law Dept, did a year and a half of med mal/construction, and for past year and a half have been at a well known defense firm working on high exposure construction accident cases. Contemplating taking a couple interviews at plaintiff's firms to see if there is a good fit. I’ve done PI work my entire career for over 10 years. I’ve worked in state and federal courts and I’ve traveled around the country doing MDL work and bellwether trials. I’ve had a lot of success making the idiots I’ve worked for wealthy, but I’m still waiting for a moment where I enjoy what I’m doing. I feel stuck working in dysfunctional plaintiff firms/cultures.
