Every agency I have worked at has PMs, but then again, I am a PM! Haha! I have worked at mid-size and very large agencies. The trifecta is Account, Creative, Project Management. You are screwed if you don't have PMs.
Any agency I’ve ever been at has had them, I’ve worked on a team that didn’t have one before and it was extremely disorganized and frustrating. I think it’s standard practice and a necessary role.
I’ve been in places where they’ve had traffic managers that they mistakenly thought were the same as having a PM and places where they expected the account folks to be PM. It never goes well when that happens. Something takes a back seat…
In pharma/med comms, only certain departments have PMs. Project management is usually managed by the Accounts/Client Services team, except for the digital/creative departments
Can confirm!!
