That is rude if you do not hear back. All candidates need to be treated with respect and have proper closure based on effort put in. It’s possible you’re the silver medalist, and they made an offer to somebody else, but they’re keeping you on hold till that gets reconciled
That’s on you. You willingly went through 12 separate interviews without demanding they get on with it? I would have stopped after interview 5 and asked to give me an offer or move on.

Director, most people don’t feel they have this leverage, especially if they desperately need a job as many in this market do. They’ll call your bluff and proceed with someone willing to jump through the hoops. I agree that 12 is excessive and I thought this was mostly a thing of the past, but I think I interviewed with somewhere around 15 people for my last job around 8 yrs ago.
This is common practice lately. While I know it sucks to waste time and money, think about the insights this gives you about the culture
Not sure why you’re directing this towards my comment when I’m agreeing that it’s wrong and that it’s indicative of a toxic culture. Redirect that to the company.
Yea, our HR department is among the worst in the industry which says a lot. TA lacks urgency and the disorganization has caused my group to lose out on many candidates due to delayed follow ups and poor coordination.

Damn, yes that’s very unprofessional. When you say that you spent a lot of money to interview, did they not cover your flight?
They don't know how to use Teams or Zoom? Companies want to save money, there is a start.
That is awful, disrespectful and rude! Ghosting is the worst thing in my opinion. It does seem to be the way now days. I a quick thank you for your time but we decided to go with another candidate. Not like it used to be years ago. Sorry, I say it's there loss!
Why did you do so many interviews? Remember you have to say yes to an offer soooo you could’ve told them 6-8 interviews ago to make an offer or move on.
If I were you I would follow up with an ultimatum email… either there’s an offer on the table or I’m going to review other package offers. This opportunity is ranked #1 however there are a few opportunities that are close 2nd and are moving quickly.
I don't know BlackRock but as a former hiring manager it is difficult to call the second person and tell them I am not sending the offer because I have been burned by the other employee who can't pass a pee test or show up to actually work. So yeah, sometimes I would wait until after I know the other person shows up.
