~90-100k if you’re just an analyst with minimal technical skills ~120-130k if you have a suite of technical RPA knowledge or coding skills to go along with being an analyst

Those are pretty standard tools that don’t require much skill as a consumer. $70k is probably about right unless you’re developing micro-services/web apps/API’s…etc.

80-120 would be a reasonable range.. With outliers

My point of reference is Houston. Which is labeled as either low or medium COL

$75k

Wondering how many investment hours other folks are putting in. I lateraled to my AM100 firm in June 2020 after starting my career at a small (12 attorney) shop, followed by a two year clerkship when I moved. My firm just instituted a new three tier system of compensation based on billables and I feel like I’m getting completely screwed because I had over 2400 hours, but a literal third of them are investment time. So I’m putting in tons of time, but will be in the lowest tier of compensation.

Has anyone regretted a move and title bump because they didn’t feel ready/weren’t ready? There's working late when you're trying to solve a problem or come up with a solution to something. And then there's working late when you're basically playing a game of "who's on first" trying to navigate a whole group of people through a very simple, straightforward one person task that should have taken 10 minutes, over the course of 4 hours through a maze of union rules, database permissions and client bureaucracy.

Do you think it’s better to go to immediately go a firm that’s beyond your skillset or work your way up to that firm? For example, going to a T2 firm as an experienced hire having never done consulting without or starting at a smaller consulting firm and then going to T2/MBB?

Just got a job offer today. How reasonable is it for me to ask to not start for another month so I can travel? Didn’t really come up during the 6 interviews that I had but it’s something I’ve been really wanting to do. They mentioned that they would have the written offer in a couple days, so it doesn’t sound like it’s super pressing for me to start right away.

I work on an account that has not set management boundaries with our client. It feels like we’re a restaurant, where client is allowed to directly request whatever tasks they want anytime and everything is urgent. Theres a tendency to send “last minute requests” which are usually completed on time... which means I have to drop everything else in order to complete it. I’ve been told to even start working 1 hr before my working schedule... even though I find myself working overtime 1-2 hrs. HELP!
