I was offered a job with a company who offered $30k less than I’m making now. I was prepared to take a pay cut for the opportunity but asked for a $10k reduction because I’m not a high earner yet so it really makes a difference.

Eventually we (the CEO and I) shook at a $20k reduction on the understanding that they would pay for my gym membership as it’s my biggest expense, and I was upfront that it costs $4k a year.

Today they reneged on the gym element as they don’t offer that..

The gig posting said it was a couple months (until the end of june) but when I interviewed they said they were actually gonna extend me until next February. Anyways now they’re saying the whole agile team may be eliminated and I didn’t get any new work assigned this week… I’m kind of freaking out bc I thought I’d at least have until next month.
