Claim unemployment or try to find your hardest to find a job in the next month and omit the layoff? I want to rush but not settle. Definitely don't want to go back into consulting.

What is "omit the layoff"? Even if you get unemployment you can still explain away resume gaps

UI

SM1 - omission would be me attempting to find a job so quickly that I could plausibly and guiltlessly (this one not so sure about) omit having ever left PwC. In other words, potential employers would not be exposed to the fact that I was in fact let go.

Definitely unethical but not sure how common this is. Having been laid off just looks so shitty. Feels pretty shitty too.

Do that. But also get unemployment. And stop giving a darn if you have to stretch truth and put positive spin on a bad situation. Guiltlessly! Ha! Relax man

OP you do know that you have to give exact start and end dates for the background check right? Being laid off doesn't look shitty. It happens to EVERYONE at some point in their life. But if your attitude is to be embarrassed about it, employers will feed off of it. Just state it nonchalantly and tell them you're using this as an opportunity to find a better fit or explore other interests and move on

And if you're going into consulting just at another firm... Pretty sure they're going to know what happened. Especially if you try to rush the process, recruiters can smell the desperation. Better to just tell them the truth

Alright alright! Total rookie here, just looking for some perspective! Thanks people. Those are great points

And not going back into consulting, at least that isn't what I'm looking at at this point

Smart OP, it doesn't seem very stable right now TBH. Many people who aren't laid off are leaving

Hello,
I work in SAP Data Migration space.
Can anyone explain the difference between PWC SDC, PWC AC and PWC India?

I am trying to get into PWC. here are a few things I have heard so far. Is this fairly accurate?

1. PwC AC is offshore counterpart of PwC US. Good salary. No travel opportunities. Average yearly hike ~10% Mostly technical work.
2 PwC India is a pure consulting firm. Salary better than PwC AC. client facing work. Can grow as a management consultant. Great Travel opportunities.
