This job market is insane right now.
Now, with all of these layoffs... employers have the upper hand, and it's super competitive to land the job.
I work full time as a senior manager (L7) at Amazon. I've passed one the hardest interview that Amazon has to be a part of the executive team.
I started coaching on the side and really fell in love with it. I've helped a ton of people land their dream job!

I feel terrible for even thinking this, but it’s hard to read all the posts on LinkedIn with all the sob stories of people from Meta being laid off. While it’s sad that they no longer have jobs and they definitely need help, but they have an incredible résumé, ridiculous severance, and as the economy rebounds, they will be the first in line to get amazing and high-paying jobs. Meanwhile, I know tons of mid-level agency and marketing folks who’ve been laid off and struggle over the next months @
I was making $130k as a senior copywriter at a smaller shop in NYC but was laid off. Did this salary give me an unrealistic expectation of what I’m going to make next, either in NYC or other markets?
Ex-Deloitte (and other) consultants who got laid off: If your experience has been in strategy or payments, my firm is still hiring. We have positions open at Director, Manager, SC and juniors levels.

I got an opportunity to join Microsoft in "Microsoft Teams" product team in Bangalore. Anyone can give me an idea about this team? As we are seeing many layoffs across the industry, can someone tell me how safe is to join "Microsoft Teams"?
Is now a good time to move given the economic climate? In final stage for interview at Big4 but worried about hiring freeze/offers being rescinded/layoffs of new hires. Are these valid worries or am I being paranoid?
Is it common practice in Singapore for firms to have a probation period for new joiners (duration at their discretion), during which new joiners can be fired at a week’s notice period?
Can someone please refer me to a Labor Lawyer in NYC? A coworker got laid off without a warning or evaluation process, just because our creative director had personal issues with her. We think she has a case. She’s a great creative and deserve justice.
What do you do when you’ve been a solid contributor, valued member to a growing team, who always goes the extra mile, and gets positive praise daily from coworkers plus great reviews yet as a mid level production designer with a multitude of skills (who’s been knowingly underpaid but enjoys the freedom of working remote) has her creative director quit (who labored his team out of love) - domino effect, eventually their team falls apart and you find yourself being laid off “effective now”
Does anyone have input as to how most designers or graphic designers are doing during this pandemic? Since January 2020, I became laid off from my job working full-time and remotely for a Southwest Florida urologist that I worked for about 10 years. no it seemed I was going to get my job back around July of last year, he decided to create a partnership with an oncologist who had his own marketing team. Because of the partnership, it looks like I can only work freelance for them now.
After lots of layoffs today, our CCO just told us to "have some drinks and forget about it." 😒
PwC folks...how long was your CRT call if you got laid off. I have mine on Monday and super stressed
Hello! Due to recent leadership changes, signs are pointing to a layoff for my team & me around Christmas/the new year. If you know of any companies looking for folks with HR, Talent strategy, program management, or I/O psychology backgrounds, please comment or DM me. Remote roles for professionals with 8+ years of experience are ideal. Many thanks in advance 🙂
How busy are the Big4s in the public sector in Toronto and Canada overall? Any layoffs or are people fully utilized?
What is up?
Designers, what is your relationship like with your PM and Design Manager? How do you typically work together?
our company is expanding domestically in about 15 states in the US as well as internationally in EMEA and APAC. our biggest struggles right now are with all the different employment laws/compliance items + comp & benefits + what differs locally vs aligns globally. we are working with a PEO but still need support and expertise internally. what's the best way to structure the HR team in order to support this type of growth & expansion, especially in a short amount of time?
Moving to LA for a job, won't have to be in the office more than 1-2 times a week. Any areas to look into? Don't want to live downtown, would prefer some green space if possible - I have a dog. Maybe in the $2.5-$3k range?
One of my teammates got married recently and I’m struggling to think of a gift on behalf of the rest of my team that isn’t a Visa gift card. Ideas? Is $250-500 range reasonable?

I graduated in 2016, did a state court clerkship, and then was hired as a hearing officer. I’m looking to apply for an attorney advisor position but wonder if my lack of ‘traditional’ legal work will harm my chances. Thoughts?

Any WIT in Boston? I'm interviewing for a really exciting opportunity in downtown and would be relocating there after it's safe. Would love to hear about any groups or resources!
Bonus points for intersectionality and welcoming of LGBT individuals (I'm a gender non-conforming butch lesbian). Bonus bonus points for a group that isn't all white.
Also where should I be looking to live? I heard Boston has a lot of racism issues and is very segregated...
Hi everybody just want to share something.
I was the 2021 best ADR of all CEU in my company, got a promotion as account executive and in the first 7 month I’ve been between the 3 best sales of the team (12 people). Got back from 2 weeks of holidays and a month of sick leave I’m a bit demotivated by the culture of always been closing, always pushing etc.. I feel like I’m a bit tired. Probably I need a new experience or I don’t like the job anymore.. Anyone been in this situation? Any advice?

Portable monitor recommendations? Details: Looking for a recs for a bigger monitor that can either detach from the monitor stand or fold away easily so it’s not always standing straight up. It would be a second monitor that I keep in a non-office room in my house so I’d like to be able to hide it easily. But I also don’t want a tiny monitor. Any help appreciated 😊

What is "omit the layoff"? Even if you get unemployment you can still explain away resume gaps
SM1 - omission would be me attempting to find a job so quickly that I could plausibly and guiltlessly (this one not so sure about) omit having ever left PwC. In other words, potential employers would not be exposed to the fact that I was in fact let go.
Definitely unethical but not sure how common this is. Having been laid off just looks so shitty. Feels pretty shitty too.
Do that. But also get unemployment. And stop giving a darn if you have to stretch truth and put positive spin on a bad situation. Guiltlessly! Ha! Relax man
OP you do know that you have to give exact start and end dates for the background check right? Being laid off doesn't look shitty. It happens to EVERYONE at some point in their life. But if your attitude is to be embarrassed about it, employers will feed off of it. Just state it nonchalantly and tell them you're using this as an opportunity to find a better fit or explore other interests and move on
And if you're going into consulting just at another firm... Pretty sure they're going to know what happened. Especially if you try to rush the process, recruiters can smell the desperation. Better to just tell them the truth
Alright alright! Total rookie here, just looking for some perspective! Thanks people. Those are great points
And not going back into consulting, at least that isn't what I'm looking at at this point
Smart OP, it doesn't seem very stable right now TBH. Many people who aren't laid off are leaving
