Client wants a legal opinion in 24 hours on something that takes a week to properly research. Do I go with my gut, or is there a way to push back tactfully?

Why do they need it in 24 hours? Also, what could possibly take a week to research?

My boss in my creative agency threatened to fire me because I, a male, came into work with my nails painted. A Partner asked me to “monitor” her Outlook and gave me access. Basically the ask is to delete or “read” unnecessary emails/forward work to managers/forward invites to her admin. Is this normal? I just finished a big jury trial with a senior partner (SP). There were co-parties w/separate counsel. SP mentally checked out, to the point that co-counsel was asking what SP was doing/if SP was okay. I ended up handling most everything. SP did a few parts but went rogue and did things that were offensive/risky/bad for client. It became clear that SP is not performing like SP used to and may be a liability. Do I tell someone at my firm? Don’t want to offend SP or cause drama, but I’m concerned.

I hate working on commission. I am a naturally shy person and approaching guests in our store is intimidating enough, it's even worse when some of my more socially savvy coworkers notice me trying to strike up a conversation with someone and they come in and literally steal my client from me.

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?

How do you deal with a manager who expects 3 months of work overnight? I have tried structuring , creating a plan to show him how the activities are being executed. However, he seems to be someone who turns around every other hour to ask ‘Is it done’? I am usually pretty good at managing expectations but having a hard time conveying how unreasonable he is being. Despite being organized, I am coming across as scattered and jumbled since I have been working 15+ hours with no food and break daily

Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.
