Yes
It’s not dead and never will be. Those claiming it is are either bad at it or more likely afraid to make the calls. This is a means to rationalize the reason for not cold calling. Try making 400 dials in a day and you will see that it still works. If you don’t make the calls then it’s because you’re afraid to do so or just need some good old fashioned training. “Now go hit the phones”!!!
My average has been 1/600 or 0.1%. Tiny percentage and a lot of hurt feelings but it does work
LinkedIn. Mail works great for us... people appreciate a good letter still.
Door knocking
I make 250 calls a day and usually about 10 people answer maybe one of those ten wants to meet
And I did 600 a day for 8 years every day
Cold calling is hard but targeted cold calling still works, we have closed 10 million plus cases with a cold call it works.
Definitely not dead. You need to change your approach. Take alot of classes and read books on it and it is my biggest way to get business owners. As for personal clients it's very challenging. Compliance did not kill it the people who defrauded people did. Come thru as honest an sincere and do right by your clients and read read and read more on other people who have perfected it's approach. Not saying his is my only way to get business but it's huge in the business owners marketplace.
Nick Murray's book is brilliant as well
Dead enough.
Compliance killed it.
I do it exclusively and it’s got one foot in the grave. Dead or not, there is no other fast way
How does that even work? I mean you've got my respect man, but i don't even know people who answer their phones these days.
For everyone saying it’s dead (and I agree)... how do you prospect?
Mostly content and display ads in local publications.
I stand corrected, cold calling is not “dead enough.” I’m frankly surprised that it’s still so prevalent. I haven’t seen it since the late 90’s, but apparently it’s still alive and well. My hat’s off to those doing it, I know it’s tough.
Is very hard now with the federal do not call list. Today every single phone number except for one was on the federal list and I spent all day calling blocked numbers!
Why would you be calling home numbers during the day? During the day people are at work and you should be calling them at work where there isn’t any federal do not call list. Businesses are exempt. Unless you called home numbers are purpose to lie to yourself that you were working when you knew the whole time it wouldn’t work or they wouldn’t pick up (because they’re at work)
