Getting tired of the race to lowest fees possible causing a general mindset that financial advisors aren’t worth paying for. Wait until a protracted down market, robo-advisors...

The problem is that the industry is not doing a good job of separating 2 messages that are being confused. Low fees on investments matters, and people who pay a reasonable fee for an advisor do better. Fund companies should be compressing fees, but advisor fees don't have much room for compression.
I think the future is:
A person starts with a robo- service, then they transition to an advisor as they hit midlife crisis age and want planning.

Selling on fees will cause you to lose on fees. Yes they are important, but selling your value above all else is key.

Looking to get some feedback on this investment strategy: Contribute 100% of the allowed limit in ESPP program(15% of base) to get full company match(15% of my contribution). Sell it on the same day it vests(vests starting of every month) and then invest that money in vgt and voo. I understand the short term tax implications but still feels it is better to invest in etf than in company’s stocks. Thoughts?

I’m interested in applying for the 2 years of full time work as an LCSW but my loans are a bit under 50k so I’m wondering if they would only give me what I need to clear my loans or would I still get 50k as long as I complete my contract ?

Why does fractional real estate have such a bad reputation? For context, have about 2 million saved plus house worth another million. Early 40’s. Generally follow FIRE, but being cooped up for covid has been tough, and wanna buy a fractional out west at Jackson Hole, where I’d love to go skiing every year....so I have something to look forward to. Would cost about 50k for access to 1 week in winter and 1 week in summer. Plus HOA fees of 5k/year. Thoughts? Watchouts?

Moving to NYC from DC. I had planned to come up for a weekend or two to tour apartments. When would be the best time? I thought about a month ahead of needing to move - and then coming back a weekend or two later - would make sense. But I am seeing so many listings on StreetEasy that say the unit is available immediately. Any advice? I have a cat so trying to avoid moving into a temporary Airbnb in between to apartment hunt, as I’ve seen some people suggest.
