In this field there is so much to know. Not only you have to keep up with IT and cyber security, you also have to know programming in many different languages, communication protocols, SCADA MES and ERP systems, and you can’t forget the electrical part and keep up with all the different standards.

It can be overwhelming at times and it feels like you never know enough. How do you keep up? You learn on the job or take special classes to pick up knowledge?

Will be leaving for a competitor (different consulting firm) soon and trying to figure out how to approach 2 weeks notice. I have several weeks of unused vacation still - will / can my firm force me to use my vacation time during my two week notice period?
