Ours is 20 days for an immediate family member, up to 5 days for other family members or loved ones, and I believe we have days for infant loss / miscarriage as well. While 20 days doesn’t seem near enough to cope with the loss of a spouse, child, or parent, this is the most generous bereavement policy I’ve seen in my 20-year career. I’ve worked other places that maxed out at 5 days for an immediate family member. I can’t imagine coming back to work so soon after that.

I took a few days to travel for a person who was like a brother to my husband, and did not get any pushback that they weren’t a blood relative.
When I had a miscarriage, I took a week to grieve. It was also a non-issue. I just selected bereavement as the code in our time/billing management tool.

Depends on your agency, but typically if it’s your spouse or your child, you’re going to get longer bereavement than if it was your grandparent, for example.
Because of FTO there really isn’t a limit, but a week or longer if your child or spouse dies. I’ve seen even longer. If it’s your parent typically 3-5 days.

Yeah it really depends. I had someone take a month when their husband died. But I’ve also had people take FMLA. If it’s your kid- you’ll get all the time you need. But it depends where you work. A week is the minimum.
I will say in the as industry this is sacrosanct. I’ve never had an agency ever sweat me for how long I left for bereavement. My mother, both in-laws, three grandparents and our family dog. Took anywhere from 2(dog)-18 days (mother). As long as you communicate every week or couple of weeks, they are cool with it.
