Exactly. With another income it’s definitely comfortable.
That’s 22 year old, single person salary in 2025.
Let’s not be counting rural Alabama in these salaries. We need the average medians for major cities instead.

You could live comfortably in mid major cities alone with a small percentage of your salary to invest, but you most likely won’t retire with the way things are going. And that is assuming your salary stays at this range
I'm not sure it would be"comfortable" and would require some lifestyle adjustments.

Per person for a family of 3? Yes. As a the sole earners, that's just above "low income" where we live.
If I kept my same house from when I started work 20 years ago and lived in the same low cost of living suburb with an older car. Sure.
