Keeping this travel ban going on is ridiculous. OTOH, it’s a factor that has played some role in my decision to move back to Europe this year.
Does anyone else feel like management likes to make staff the butt of every joke? It’s pretty much locker room talk every time staff spend time with management (lunch, travel, etc).
I have 10 days (inclusive of travel days) to do something at the end of October. For once I am stumped on where to go. Any ideas? Prefer international, late 20s/early 30s couple, not partiers, quite open minded. Really our only constraint is neither of us drive much so not keen on a trip that is best done with a rental car/lots of driving.
How long do you think it’d take to “explore” Chicago? Have opportunity to work remote from US and would love to travel from city to city maybe every year or every 6 months and wondering if a year is enough time to get a good experience out of Chicago
Mileage run booked! To Detroit, to check out the Henry Ford Museum and ford factory tour. Restaurant suggestions anyone?
Where is Mr. Trump during all this? Even Trump supporters must agree this guy is completely MIA and not showing any leadership or trying to bring a sense of calm or unity to the nation.
This is for my real estate agents. I’m brand new into the business and I adore the work. What tips or pointers can you give to a new agent- I’m in Las Vegas if it helps to be specific. If anyone has any book recommendations that’d be awesome as well. I’m looking to learn anything and everything. For example, learning what I can and can’t do to make a deal close
Just went to JFK after years of LGA marine terminal flights. I feel like I stepped through the doors of a time machine.
IBM is still a consulting group you guys. I'm pretty sure that global services is going to eliminate consulting groups for recently acquired consulting groups for Truven and Explorys.
Guy sitting in front of me on the plane is bragging about how much he travels to the lady next to him. He just pulled out his phone & showed her his Marriott app and said "I travel quite a bit". #smh
I’m an immigrant with H1B. Been wanting to get out of my firm so badly but every time I apply outside, I start getting dragged into work at my current firm.I was going through some pretty rigorous interviews (I failed them) and have been in a slump since. Meanwhile my current firm keeps dumping work on me and I can’t find the time to apply outside. Anyone been through something similar? I’m losing hope. The politics is also so toxic, they started screwing me over since my last performance review.
Has anyone gotten an experience letter from the firm? I am in the process of applying for Canadian PR, was wondering if there is some template or I should it come from my manager in writing?
Has anyone taken lessons at GolfTEC or a golf store (golf galaxy, pga superstore)? I typically play in the mid 80s but can’t get into the 70s. Looking for lessons to improve and get a little more consistent.
Any ex consultants who are now in VC? How did you transition (direct/post-mba)? Pros & cons? Do you like it?

How does it make sense that the children are going to school while most adults here have not started going back to work yet? If it’s COVID related still, it’s not consistent.
Qualifying for elite status is like the myth of Sisyphus - we spend all year rolling our stone up the hill then it's back to the base. #notevengoldyet
🐟 at sfdc. Why work at sfdc? I'm preparing for an interview and want to be ready for the "why are you interested in sfdc" question. (Cont.)
For MBB interns who finish their summer internships and receive return offers, can they directly transition to FT? Or do they need to wait for some period of time
Anyone can share insights on what is the average salary raise and bonus at Grant Thornton and Moody's investors service? Also, what should be the salary expectation range for a 6+ YOE, MBA, CFA ,FRM for New York Location in the financial services industry?
I seriously doubt some of the recruiters and hiring managers in the big4s now a days, their decisions w.r.t. designation and pay depends on their mood and willingness to work on a particular day.. They will interview for X designation and then will ghost you and then will come back with a lower level and pay saying would you be interested?🤣 Why would somebody be interested to join at a lesser pay, when he/she is currently well in his/her job and just found the opportunity more interesting...
If you're laid off, do they ask you to resign? If so, can you refuse and ask them to fire you instead?
