Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Fox & CNN have realized that they are fundamentally selling an entertainment product to people who want to be entertained/stimulated. The Economist is selling its product to people who need to know what's going on (for different reasons).
CNN = Fox is false equivalence
PBS Newshour, it's boring, but it's fantastic news.
Even the BBC news app gives a more global perspective, and its free
People want a narrative that reaffirms their world view and doesn't challenge their preconceptions . Fox, CNN, and most of the internet sites know this. Also a lots of reporters are arrogant and don't critically think about their own biases when doing a story
Religion aside, their reporting and analysis is recognized as pretty unbiased and on point
Have you seen CNN’s apple advert? Clowns!
It really is awful. Scary part is that probably 2/3 of America get their news from fox and CNN Facebook posts which is causing the extreme divisiveness we have lately.
I recommend reading the Financial Times!
I like Business Insider
Christian Science Monitor also does some really good journalism
We watch CNN because they tell us what is "breaking" -- breaking news every day. At one point CNN could cover battles better than the military could report it through their own channels. CNN traded that reputation for an entertainment role as the default news reporter.
The unfortunate thing is that The economist will say they are providing weekly analysis, but will refer back to the daily alarm-raisers at CNN for staying up to date. Unless you're in media, The World This Week in The Economist can cover the news more intelligiently than TV outlets and in way less time.
Christian Science ? such an oxymoron
@bcg2 it's even more of a paradox once you get to know Christian science for about 2 minutes.
