Hello guys, I am a ML Engineer by profession and have recently heard about the AI Centre of Excellence at TCS.

I've that the COE team is supposed to guide TCS employees on client end. However, I've also heard that as they do not generate any profits, TCS moves them to client side as soon as possible.

I am trying to write a stock letter to send to parents everyday that their child does not come to virtual learning sessions. I have been told by administration that even though I have spoken to parents and know why students are not coming to zoom classes, that we still need to contact them everytime they dont come. How many firms is too many? I’ve practiced 13 years. Since I was a 1st year associate, every 3 years or so I’ve been recruited for another opportunity that is hard to pass up. I’ve been at my current firm 3 years and got the call again, again about an opportunity that is hard to pass up. I don’t like having a reputation of a flight risk, but this keeps happening. Should I decline to pursue the opportunity just so I have a longer track record at my current firm? This will be my 4th if I move.

Second year associate, started at a new firm recently and got put on a fast paced transaction. Made mistakes (drafting errors and tardiness to a call) that feel irredeemable… although no one has scolded me yet. As we move into next phase of the transaction the senior associate on the deal asked to meet 1-1 to discuss “logistics” and “my time/role” on the transaction. . .

Any advice on how to handle in the instance that I receive negative feedback during this conversation?

Hypo: client says they agreed to use a prior agreement another firm drafted as precedent for a new deal prior to engaging you. It’s maybe the most poorly written contact you’ve ever seen. Most material terms are arguably there, but it’s convoluted and you’d be embarrassed to put your name on it. There’s clearly a better way to draft it. To what extent do you re-write certain sections?

Pros and cons of taking a class year cut? Partner sees my potential and that there’s an actual evolution but I’m not there yet in terms of experience compared to my peers so he told me to at least consider a class year cut. Is that a nice way to tell me we are not happy with your work product might kick you out of you don’t improve ? Or am I being paranoid here?

Why can't a placement agent combine or integrate the offering of interests in the sponsor's fund with the contemporaneous offering of interests in another fund? Is it based on reputational risk or from a sales perspective in case someone rejects both funds, any other issues? Thanks!

What would be valid reasons for turning down a great lateral opportunity, and how to go about telling that firm no?

I’m an associate trying to exit biglaw and there is a current job posting for in-house counsel at one of the firm’s smaller clients. I’m tempted to apply, but scared it’s going to get back to the client’s shareholder contact that I’m looking. Anyone with any insight on this? In a similar vein, has anyone been honest about looking for exiting opportunities with shareholders such that they maybe can help place you somewhere strategic for them and the pipeline of work in the future?

Does anybody else get that anxious feeling in their chest when their workload starts to pile up? When my to-do list fills up and the timelines start to get tight I really start to seize up and I think this is how I’m going to have a heart attack in my 20s.
