Left FDD a few years ago, but in my opinion it’s very difficult to find a job that pays north of 125 and is a strict 9-5. I probably work 45-50 hours a week now (maybe a little more around month end close), but for me the benefit is the predictability. I know when I’ll be busy and I can plan around it.
I do think the longer you stay in FDD the pay gap widens and it gets a little harder to move out, but I’ve seen many people do it.
Coach
You can choose 9-5 or you can choose earnings potential. We all see employee census files - rare to see anyone in an A&F role making much north of 250/300k cash comp other than the CEO and sometimes their number 2 where every SM / director is there or meaningfully higher.
Second this. After the manager level it gets really hard to move comp wise because you’re then downgrading by a significant amount unless you go into other client facing or capital allocation roles
Not relevant to your post sorry, but is FDD restricted to certain offices at GT?
Yeah, basically that. I was wondering if the office you’re in has to have a FDD practice or if it’s okay to be in an office without one but still in a reasonably sized market.
Apply, interview, then decide when you have an offer. Always good to see what’s out there and compare your options. You won’t know the details of those jobs until you talk to their teams
Well there are tons of cool companies out there but whether you are able to get in from fdd is a question. My point is don’t get ahead of yourself, recruit first and see what you can get
It’s about how you sell yourself in the interviews. Any job out there making big money require a grind.
