For background I am ex-ACN. My reaction is not to jump but I would pose the following questions:
(1) How many years have you been a SM?
(2) Are you in the practice and industry you want to be in?
(3) Is your desire to be MD or Partner?
(3i) If so, are there known blockers at ACN? Is there a known path to MD?
(3ii) If so, what is the career path at new org? Has it been discussed with the recruiter and main executive contact?
(4) What attracts you to this new role? (Is the overall comp structure different ie higher variable)
(5) What, outside of the uncertainty of the outlook, do you not like about Accenture? (Is it specific aspects of the expectations of your role; your team; structural/business practices; career path; etc) How do these compare to the new org?
(6) How does your current retirement benefits compare to your target?
(7) Do you have gas in your tank to reset? (Your first 2 years will be a grind - not only project wise but re-establishing network, reputation and pipeline)
Ex-ACN here as well- such a helpful reply. 🙌
I‘ve travelled 100% for years when I was at PWC And I like to travel, but even still, that is a lot. It’s hard on family life and leaves precious little time for other social activities. 20k is not worth it. To make what you are making and not have to travel, that’s great. Now, if you choose to take that offer, let me know, I’d love to have your current job.
A2 - yes
Update: sent counter offer which they rejected. Told em to f themselves
I think you might mmbe misunderstanding. He countered the new place not Accenture
Forgot to mention - currently no travel and on a longterm project. New role has 100% travel - 5 days a week.
Just say no!
June outlook doesn’t look good - you could ask Accenture to counter and match salary and stay - that is if they are willing to counter
Good luck - keep us posted
ACN short term outlook doesn't matter if he's on a stable long term project.
Rising Star
Yes.
As an ex- acn, If you plan to go to ey even if they offer you 350k not worth it.
Dang!!!
Any RSUs at ACN??
