Has anyone else worked two programming roles at one time?
I currently work as a Contracted Software Engineer and I’m set to finish my contracted time at the end of October. Howdy…I need a sanity check! As part of my previous role, I reported security non-compliance and gross security misrepresentations. For my valiant efforts I was laid off (despite being a protected whistleblower) and my reports were buried. Everything I did was in line with my responsibilities. I was extremely concerned that systems housing personal credit data on all US consumers were not adequately protected. I essentially risked my job to protect data and I’m not sure if it mattered.

My challenge to everyone of you. Every leader, every future leader, everybody who will lead this industry one day: when we get back to normal, whatever that will look like, get personally involved again with recruiting, hiring and mentoring. DO NOT leave personnel decisions to HR, alone. DO Not rely on the parasitic temp agencies like creative circle and Aquent to do all the work. Get involved. Give a damn. A creative leader saw value in me, l assume someone saw value in you too. Pay it forward.
