OP is obviously working a ton of hours on a Friday and blowing off steam. We’ve all done it. Probably need to talk to someone in your life or a therapist (not fishbowl). When I felt like this, I switched to a consulting group and my life is sooo much better.
If you think you are underpaid, find someone who is willing to pay you more. Unlike slaves in sweatshops you have that option. Take it and put action behind your words. Frankly with that kind of attitude Deloitte would be well advised to excuse the negativity by encouraging your departure.

I think actual slaves in actual sweatshops would disagree
So quit? Baffles me when people complain about working at a company they are voluntarily working at
Public accounting is paying above industry still, which is why you have layoffs because no one is quitting.
Get your facts straight before you complain.
1) you don’t calculate hourly wage on a post-tax, post-benefits basis
2) Even if you did, that would make their effective tax rate 65%, which as a tax accountant I would hope you know isn’t real.
3) Atlanta ranks below Philadelphia and above Minneapolis in terms of CPI. Neither of which are considered expensive cities.
If only there was a way to find out the true market value of your services…
In fraud? Respectfully what are you talking about
You need to get out of accounting. This is what you sign up for in PA. I didn’t think about this when I was in college but now that I’ve experienced it firsthand I’m moving to a higher paying industry bc I can’t justify working these hours and getting paid like crap the entire time
I agree. Average lawyer is worse off than average B4 accountant. I wouldn’t go unless it was a top 10 program on a full scholarship and I was still in my 20s
As an exempt employee, as most professionals are, there is no such thing as "overtime" - you work until the work is done. You want to work a job where you're compensated for "overtime" then go work on a production line at a factory.
Not when the 'professional' bosses dump tons of work on hard working employees and just a little on those that skated by so they have to stretch their work statement out to even work 8 hours a day.
Love how the plantation fire has brought inappropriate white hyperbole to the forefront. 🙄 How about don’t invoke others’ racial generational traumas and consider the prison labor crisis in the US.
Not to make light of the capitalist crises that are happening, but try and have a little bit of perspective that there are actual people working in real bondage for no pay. That comment was so gross we collectively need a shower.
Which country are you in ?9
Ok Staff 1
OP-Deloitte has never paid more than 3 percent under market. Your 40 percent is a silly number unless your view of market includes totally different membership.
Even as a manager ?
Ok, if you say so.
Wow, that's a huge change from the days when I was there (in the 90's - Miami, US office). I'm sorry to hear that, back then we got OT and it was a pretty cool place to work and the training was unparalleled. :-(
Ya I e heard that
