You'd better take cover, Kansas. I can see the line of pitchforks coming up the hill. You're absolutely right, of course. I don't know if that was the intent of the member who posted. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but these professional organizations are most definitely playing to a targeted audience.
One that I belong to has a blog section on their website, and a game I started playing is, "Where's the white person?" The vast majority of the images associated with the article links show every skin tone except one. Finding a white male is like a Yeti sighting. It's something I probably wouldn't have even noticed or cared had it not been for the constant race- and sex-based lecturing. Either way, I think it's obvious that the definition of "diversity" we're going with is "not white or male."

Some things get lost in translation online. I was only giving one example that connected with the OP's observation. His was more related to men, but the racial element is there as well, and I just wanted to point that out.
Teacher pay is always worth talking about. I can say that I am a man, I am a teacher, and I make a decent living, although my district is not the highest paying by a long shot. That being said, there are plenty of teachers who are underpaid, and that drives both men and women out of the profession, as evidenced by the shortage of teachers in many areas.
I'm not sure what you're getting at when you say "we" should stop expecting men to earn more than their wives. Do you mean the wives? The husbands? Random people in the street? If you mean men themselves, well, you're going to have to alter the male DNA somehow, because men want to be providers who support their family. Men want to carry the load, so to speak. There's actually nothing wrong with that, so I don't think it needs to change.
In addition to pay, which again affects both sexes, getting more men into teaching isn't impossible, but I don't know how far we can move the needle. In general, I just think fewer men are interested in becoming teachers. To the OP's point, you're going to have a hard time recruiting more men if you bill teaching as a feminine industry. As I said, I don't think that was the intention of the person who posted the openings, but based on organizations I belong to, there's an obvious attempt to prioritize female and non-white candidates.
Awww, another poor me, I'm white snowflake.
Yes I have alwasy noticed this just in general on job posting ads but it honestly doesn't bother me, it is what it is.
