Hi fishies. I have a ton of interviews coming up soon including a case interview at EY within their Innovation and Experience Design practice for Digital Strategy Manager. I am super comfortable with CX, design thinking, etc which are the types of projects I would be working on BUT I am absolutely terrible in case interviews. I was hoping it would be based on CX or design but my understanding is there is some revenue component idk. Anyone have any insight? I would greatly greatly appreciate it!

Depends which firm you're at
People have their own agenda, many want to slide through by doing bare minimum..some may dislike their job despite being talented..there are so many factors, make sure you highlight the good work you are doing to your manager...

I see you are a manager, It could be your leadership / motivating style?
I operate as a project manager (and am expected to carry content development), but have no direct reports. I’ve also been with the company for less than a year, but have been given a lot of responsibilities as manager of multiple engagements. Ultimately, the principal is leading the project team.
Open to your tried and true methods/style for what may be most effective, especially in cases where you have to manage up and manage down?
agree with VP1. for me i never felt like that in consulting because there are always folks work harder and smarter than ever. However, very true for industry, corporate, startups where employees aren’t as stretched.
In consulting, so I’m chalking it up to our group’s culture. I know I’m up for promotion, but at this rate I’ll likely leave. There’s no point in it for me if everyone seems to constantly evade tasks. Can let it slide, but when it becomes a pattern with multiple people, I don’t understand how I can keep motivated, challenged, and don’t understand how I can grow in this environment. Just feels like I’m going crazy/ it’s a “me” problem

If everyone’s you talking to during the day is an ahole maybe you’re the ahole.
Have you tried asking for help or saying you’re overwhelmed? Either to your peers or management?
Yeah exactly, I think if 70% of my peers are grinding my gears, it may be a me problem?
I have said I’m overwhelmed and need help to both peers and management. The response I get is that we are short staffed and all are doing the best we can. My manager is on the same page of seeing that there is a systemic issue, while other leads add “support” with loading up junior level staff to the team with no experience. I think there is just no help because everyone is stretched thin. But when I look at project lists/roles - I clearly am one of the few that have the most on their plates. Maybe my expectations are too high and I need to let things flop/fail so I can breathe easy?
As a senior reporting to a similar manager. My thought is - why are we creating so much work for nothing? It all seems extra and not really required - the answer is value, supposedly. In addition, just because one is a high performer, does not mean that the others need to kill themselves working with a manager.
Totally burnt out... I need a vacation soon!
Sounds like your colleagues know what they are doing imo
Yeah I hope that’s not the case, but starting to think they are fully aware.
