You’ll be fine

Not true. In Finance /banking, you may be denied a job for bad credit. They def do a credit check

like

Credit and background checks are usually combined into one process.

It depends on how "bad" is bad. A recruiter told me that they are looking for bankruptcies, seriously delinquent things like child support, taxes, alimony. Things that speak to character.

If your credit is bad due to a heavy student debt load or medical debt, they tend to be more forgiving of that.

Bad credit, BK, etc. can definitely get you disqualified in financial services and related.

I got denied a job at hibbets sports because of bad credit in college lol..glad they went out of business

like

Yes and yes, lots of firms will deny jobs if you are in severe debt (usually not student) because it can cause a conflict of interest

not for entry level positions but higher level roles yes

This isn’t true. Some entry level roles also credit check.

Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin. I'm a reporter with more than 32 years of experience and I feel that, lately, local television news has been kind of dead, but I am pleased to fight for it from my local newspaper. Locals love to see someone from their own town succeeding or finding out something inspiring.

I am a firm believer that this will not change for a long time, local TV will continue to live as long as we stand for it.

How do you deal with making mistakes at work? I’ve been doing good work lately but there’s one partner who thinks I’m mistake prone and I just made a mistake on something he asked me to do, but I corrected it quickly. However, there is public record of my mistake.

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!
