Hey, I have 4 YOE and currently a manager at PwC and have been managing teams for a little over a year now. My role mainly consists of leading teams of engineers deliver MVPs to our clients.
If I wanted to exit to Google or Facebook (Meta) what role would align for me? I was looking at engineering manager roles but unsure if that’s too senior for me.

Sometimes it is hard not to think negatively about the way kids are being raised. I try to see everyone’s perspectives. Many parents just don’t know what to do and they have greater worries than they share. Understanding and support goes further than judgement and criticism.
Yes, sometimes it’s hard not to judge when behavior feels out of hand, but I remind myself that we only see a snapshot of their lives. I focus on what I can control, modeling respect and consistency, because that often teaches more than any lecture to parents.

I have hard enough time teaching students, let alone their parents. I work with alternative kids, almost none of which come from stable, two parent homes. This week two of my former students, both of which had poor parenting role models, announced the birth of their own child. And the cycle will likely continue. The good news is I have job security.
I always judge parents. I even judge my own children who are letting their children and grandchildren live under their roof. I then remember that they are not I. They are adult trying to raise their children the best they know how. I do the best that I can do while I have them in my class, and try to work with the parents to make it better. Parenting is a difficult job, especially in this day and age.
I have a Bible verse taped to my computer:
I Thessalonians 5:14 "Now we exhort you brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the weak, be patient toward all men."
Every single day. I always say my students aren't the problem, its the parents. They all learn this stuff somewhere and it is usually at home.
