For rent paid below 1 lakh there is no need to submit landlord's PAN. I have calculated based on my HRA and if I show rent paid as around 96k my tax refund will be around 13k.

However there is no rent agreement or rent receipts.

Got the rent negotiated to under 3k + free amenities for a year (gym, pool, etc.). I’m afraid rent will atleast go back to the original price (+5%) and then some. The building has some sort of rent control but that’s predicted to go away in less than 1 year as per the lease. The legal rent limit is way higher.

Can someone please for the love of god help me figure out how I can pay less income taxes? I only make 88k and I put the 12k standard deduction but I’m still getting taxed 27% of my paychecks! Marital advice from points 🐠 please! I’m the points / rewards person in our house. Spouse couldn’t care less. Drives me bonkers when he makes purchases at stores where we have rewards but doesn’t bother to identify it. He literally leaves money on the table when not bothering to pick the credit card from his wallet that has the best rewards for the merchant.
