100% always always always apply. I jumped 5 job title positions within 3 years by simply applying and actively communicating my desire to grow professionally. My former assistant Manager communicated to me that she wanted to become a GM for years now. And I was a little disappointed that she hasn’t been promoted to a GM title. Little did I know, apparently she didn’t apply for the positions at all. Point being, had she put herself out there (Especially with her experience) she would’ve been a GM or probably a DM by this point.

This is actually greats advice. I see a lot of people with great skills who are unemployed and saying no one will hire them. At the same time, they under sell themselves. Always apply for the job you want not the job you think you should be in.
I've applied left right and sideways for jobs that are a level above what I've been doing for 16 years. But I haven't gotten a single interview in 4 months.
