I buy my books anywhere! Big and little stores, recycled books for sale, or free!
I love used book stores, but I usually borrow books from the public library. I buy books for work from Amazon.
We buy from wherever is cheapest and most accessible. This could even be Amazon. Sometimes the requests are newer and not yet available on district databases. Since virtual learning, I have pdfs of each book that I provide for students to read at home. And I just stuck to that since.
All of the above. It depends on the book and where I am at the time.
I get mine from Teachers Aid where they giveaway free books. I also order from First Book because they often giveaway free books. They also giveaway books and all you have to do is pay for the shipping which is discounted as well, I’ve gotten many class sets from them. I also go to Half Price Books. Amazon has audio books that I buy as well.
We buy our books second hand because of how little large booksellers are willing to take chances on indie and minority authors. I think this is a great idea for a lesson! Even better would be to take them to talk to an author on a fieldtrip, not sure if that's something you can do but I would recommend it!
I buy my books from three primary sources:
1 - if I want it quickly or it's in the bargain bin, I buy at Books-a-Million
2 - If time isn't important, I'll go to Thriftbooks.com
3 - If Thriftbooks doesn't have the title I'm looking for, I go to Amazon.
