Our company only does annual reviews, but I'd love to start implementing 6 month reviews. I think it's important to know before the year is up what your strong points are and what may need revising. So, to answer your question, no, we don't do them, but I think it would be valuable, and I would like to.
Bowl Leader
Our 6 month is actually voluntary, where we can ask for feedback from colleagues. It gives us a chance to set expectations and see what we should focus on going into the end of the year.
We don't, we just have annual performance reviews. I think they're sufficient and don't see a need for mid-year reviews. I get all my KPI goals during our yearly review and know what's expected of me without a check-in after 6 months.
We have our official end-of-year review always, but we have a lot of smaller reviews in between. It’s less formal and more of a meeting to align goals and just get caught up. Once a year just doesn’t feel like enough, and that’s what makes it so easy to be caught off guard.
Not fun being on either side of that when the person genuinely had no idea. You don’t know what you don’t know, and I can understand it isn’t always obvious.
Yes for sure, good to make sure you are on the right path and given ample time to fix any mistakes before your final review.
