No because it doesn’t matter . You need to understand why it was lower and what you can do to improve. If the answer is not satisfactory then you need to decide whether it is worth sticking around or better to move on . Sometimes the organization forces managers hands into certain rating levels but again you have to be concerned about yourself and your future
Mgmt always frowns with coworkers sharing anything because that's a tactic used to maintain control the workers and unionizing ....as long as you are not on same page they control everyone!!!
Has there been a change of leadership or performance scoring? If not, keep your evaluation to yourself.
No. Curiosity killed the cat. If you share performance ratings with five co-workers and find out you are lower than the other five, what have you achieved? If you discover your lower-than-normal ratings are still higher than theirs, what does that mean? If the company thought this information should be public knowledge, they'd post it on the bulletin board like a final exam list.
This is going to sound harsh but trust me I’m trying to help you out. You say you’re a director; I suggest you start acting as one. This is a question I’d expect from an analyst. Directors should have enough tact to know when and where to get needed information, and you should know how to control your career at this point.
OP, I don’t need to be taught anything, nor was I trying to teach you anything besides provide advice. You say you think you’re being ranked low… then you say you’re an IC with a “specific skill set,” which tells me you’re probably rated where you should be.
Try and listen to constructive feedback instead of thinking you’re a badass; that will make a badass.
Management usually frowns upon the sharing of performance ratings among coworkers. Be careful as disciplinary action may be enforced if HR/mgt. wants to make an example of the individual who shares such info, which they typically view as sensitive.
Of course share and discuss with colleagues in a round about way, or directly it's good to have an idea as to what's being said or done by mgmt in the event of some improprieties taken place.
No. People have shared with me but I don’t reciprocate, even when better.
Nice! Thanks!
No. They aren’t your friends. They are your competitors.
No, and no, just like sharing salaries or body count on the first date no good can come from this
