I think the transition from employer to employee led branding is already happening, fishbowl is a great example of how and why!
As transparency continues to increase, it will be imperative for employers to weave authentic employee experiences into their branding/recruiting narrative. For some employers, this may mean hitting the pause button on the current narrative and getting a pulse on how the employee experience has changed, especially since the start of Covid.
Employers should approach this new conversation with the goal to truly listen and action on feedback. If a company’s branding doesn’t match employee experience, this will be obvious with attrition (helloooo great resignation), which will continue to be an uphill battle thus making branding efforts harder and less authentic.
💯 yes! The great resignation is because of many things including toxic work culture. Employee experience answers the question for job seekers about culture, DEI, pay, flexibility and WFH.
Yes! Employee led branding has already been a focus for many employers, and that’s only going to continue. We see it in the consumer space, reviews & recommendations are everything. What that means for employers is you can’t not invest and focus on your employee experience - and should couple that with enabling and inspiring your employees to be your advocates.
Employee experience is absolutely going to become something job seekers pay attention to and they want authentic content...just like what they see on social media. In the "olden days" you had to use your own professional network to get feedback about a company. Then in the 2000s Glassdoor was born. Yay! Now Fishbowl is creating a space for employees to talk and share about their real experiences and it allows job seekers even more transparency.
