What has been more beneficial to your career and why: specializing in a service offering or an industry?

Currently an associate at a mid-sized firm with “strong potential” to make partner at the end of this year. Things have been toxic for a while, but have cratered in 2021, with few signs there will be any positive changes on the horizon. What are the pros and cons of staying to make partner before trying to go in-house? I’d assumed it would be better to job search with that title on the resume, but am rethinking my assumptions the worse things get.

Anyone go from SaaS / licensing sales to services (strategy & implementation) sales?

Recent career-switcher here. While I’m a veteran with the ad process, I am new to the UX agile process. Is it normal to not use briefs whatsoever? Is it normal for the UX research lead to have a stakeholder workshop (sans designers) to think of concept “thought starters,” then have a separate meeting with the UX design lead to vote on which 1 of 3 concepts to proceed with?
