I got offer from HCL for the position of Lead consultant with(23.49 fixed + 3.51 variable). I have 8 yrs of experience. I want to know if this position is same as Team/Tech Lead ? As in my current organization I am working as Team Lead. And also how is job security and work life balance in HCL?

I’ve been a licensed general lines (2-20) insurance agent for year and a half and have sold around 2M in premium, of which most of it is personal lines (homeowners, DP), and some commercial lines business. Even though I’m licensed to write my own business, the sole producer in the company is my boss. I currently make 35k + 15k in commissions (approximately). Is this a normal salary? Or how much should I be making? Appreciate your help

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). How soon after a final round at Deloitte can one expect to hear back? My mentee interviewed on Thursday, consultant position, and was told they would hear back shortly following internal discussion. Since it’s been 3 days safe to assume it’s a no? They have another offer.

If I finish my MBA with extra loan money, should I pay it back to reduce the principal? Or invest it into the market? From my perspective it seems like it makes more sense to invest since the market is likely to generate more than my current loan rate. Although having debt also provokes some anxiety.

For additional info: my loan is a private loan of ~100k at ~5.2%. I have no other debt.

LCOL I considered my family middle class when my dad made 50k in the 90s. Life seemed alright.

25 years later my dad and I both are at around 170, but I still consider us middle class like we were in the 90s, but now it feels like more of a struggle
