Does anyone at Bloomberg LP have a PDF of the 2025 employee benefits plan? Want to compare against another company I am interviewing with so that I can make a more apples-to-apples comparison between the two roles.

Looking for specifics on the 401k plan and matching (does it include Roth 401k), healthcare plan for spouses and dependents, and in general, a clearer picture on comp (is the bonus % negotiable or is it set in stone in the offer, are they open to signing bonuses, etc).

Thanks!

Bloomberg is effectively a monopoly and a money-printing machine with limited cost controls, so I’d expect their benefits situation would be favorable

I tend to agree, but I was once super surprised when I saw the benefits package of a large pharma that I joined. Having worked in pharma and medical devices, I had always had excellent benefits. This company's were terrible -- high premium costs and crappy coverage. I was stunned! Pharma!

I gotchu - I used to work at Bloomberg - healthcare is totally free ($0 premium and very very minimal for spouse and kids, maybe like $50 a month.) 401k match is 100% of the first 7% maybe (forget exact details.)

Thank you sir!

Employee for over 10 years. Benefits are very good, salaries are dependent on what you come in at and which group. If you negotiate high when coming in, then you should be at the middle to top of each positions band, and stay there.

Benefits: 20 days time off which is very encouraged to use, up to 25 days after 10 years. Medical, dental, vision and prescription is basically 100% paid for (about $20 per paycheck). $300 annual credit toward any exercise pass or purchase (bike, gym, golf club, etc.). 50% 401k match up to 6%.

4 days in office 1 wfh right now.

For reference, I found this, but it’s Bloomberg BNA, not LP, and it’s from 10 years ago.

Just looking for something similar today as I know many of these benefits have changed somewhat.

Google Search:
https://www.bloomberg.com/company/culture/employee-benefits/united-states/open-enrollment/

Healthcare free for you and dependents (as long as you do Health Track). Small contribution for spouse. Most services seem to be a copay. They don't even offer a HDHP/HSA plan, it looks like. Overall, I've heard top notch (I have been looking at roles there as well)

For 401k specific info, including vesting, search for their From 5500 on the DOLs EFAST2 site.

Did you get an offer? Typically inside the offer document there’s a link to the benefits portal. At least it’s been that way for every other major finance firm I’ve worked for.

I can give you context from the four Fortune 50 finance firms that I’ve worked for:

They offer a 401(k), matches depend on the company. Some companies do automatic contributions, some match 100% up to 6%, some add a longevity incentive where they will give and additional X% depending on the number of years worked. I’m sure they offer a Roth. I’ve yet to work for a company that doesn’t offer it. If you’re asking about whether they match inside the Roth, I highly doubt it. The tax implications are too messy, so most companies match contributions inside the traditional.

Typically, unless you’re in a production role, bonuses have a set target percentage, and vary depending on company performance. But the idea of them saying the target bonus is 8%, and you saying no, I want 12%, that’s unlikely to happen. Think of it this way, if your an expense to the company, you earn on their terms. If you are a revenue producer, you earn on your terms (so sales, trading, etc)

Signing bonuses, if you’re leaving something on the table from your contra-firm (like a bonus), taking a pay cut but they really want you, or if it’s to remain competitive, I’m sure they will entertain it. But it’s not a common practice for them to just give a sign on, without a rationale like RELO.

PM - Similar, because my income is $250,000+, my firm caps their contribution at $10,000. So I contribute the $23,500 into Roth, and they match the $10,000 in my Traditional.

like

Have you thought about asking THEM?

Well, my experience with JPMC was that they wouldn’t give me their specific plan details until we got to the offer stage. I would guess that’s pretty similar elsewhere.

But, sure, I can ask. I just figured there were enough BLP people here to answer the question asked. Isn’t that why this app exists?

Considering leaving to take a partner position at a small firm. Is it worth it? Would only be 2 partners with a staff of 10. Comp would be 250k on the low end and probably top out around 350k. Would take 3-4 years to get to this level of comp as would be buying 10% per year up to 40% of the firm. Am I stupid for not taking this? Currently manager making 125k. Comp first year as junior partner would be 120k with 10% ownership.
