Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

Modern monetary theory - a government that prints its own money and cannot meaningfully be forced into default can pretty much do what it wants.

Do you realize this is how wars get funded too? Not sure why everyone is clutching their pearls now. At least with stimulus packages there is a return on investment.
Okay Accenture1, maybe ridiculous wasn’t the best word, it’s just wild to wrap your head around

Yeah. This is why we don’t give tax breaks to the very wealthy when times are good. We pay down the debt. Now, it’s basically funny money.
Our currency would be down the tubes and inflation would be rampant if it were “funny money”
If you are the world's reserve currency and are in a demand shock like this you can effectively print money at no cost to inflation and at ludicrously low repayment rates. This crisis is going to show that MMT is correct and hopefully hard money die hards finally are shut up. We probably need another bill that's more on the order of $10T or so to stabilize things. A one time $1200 check isn't going to do squat when unemployment hits 20%.
This bill is basically making unemployed whole. So while in the pay being unemployed meant tightening the belt until you got a job, this going to continue the cash flowing.

Our national debt is the crisis no one wants to deal with. That will be the one thing that could really break America’s back.
I think a stimulus is a good idea, but the size and mechanism of action in this one will haunt us for years.
Unfortunately, the boomers, honestly some of my fellow millennials, have made entitlement reform and debt reduction so toxic that no politician will touch it.
