Anyone find a good CC in another practice? How?

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
Anyone from GDS FAAS TEAM ???

In-house is all about drinking the kool aid. Many brands feel agency people are too “independent” in thought and easily frustrated by not producing attention-getting creative; thus they won’t assimilate well into their brand cultures.
You should reconsider your view of in-house agency groups. It’s overly simplistic and doesn’t account for why many in-house groups are stealing great briefs / scope from historically elite agencies.

ACD1 has a good point and that’s the main explanation. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Sometimes you just need some luck. Having worked for that client or for that particular category, probably helps. In-house teams tend to be hyper specialized (in their perception of their own work) and many times they think that it would be impossible for someone to know their brand or category without having ever worked on it. Which is dumb, but it’s what they think many times. And honestly, it’s because the last thing they want is a fresh perspective (even if they say otherwise).
I don’t think it’s that difficult to go brand side. I did it with relatively low experience but I do have some strong connections and a good book. I think when people say in house is hard to break into they’re talking about the more elite brands. There are so many brands that need creative, they just aren’t that sexy or interesting.
This isn’t new. It’s always been like this
Actually, it’s the opposite for me - I can’t get into an agency to save my life. But I’ve scored two in-house positions.
