I just left my pre-seed startup that was running out of cash (we made $100,000 in revenue this year, and sunk $1m in costs). I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money. I have 17,000 vested stock options, total number of shares at the time of my contract was 4million. At what point would/do you plan to pay off your student loans in full? Say you have $30k in student loans. Would you wait until you have $30k in savings? Or $40k to have a $10k emergency savings buffer? And so on. This is assuming you make the monthly payments until you pay in full of course. I understand this will vary based on your financial strategy but would love to hear some insight on what you chose/will choose and why!

Is it too late in our lives to jump into a mortgage?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. VOO. I predominantly use Schwab’s robo advisor and have consistently been 8% below S&P 500. (1) based on the historical performance of VOO, am I better off shifting all of my retirement and brokerage accounts to VOO? (2) how do I do that? How should I go about this?
